※ Prof. Keunchil Park receives the 27th Wunsch Medical Award

Prof. Keunchil Park (Dept. of Internal Medicine) has been selected as the awardee for the 27^th Wunsch Medical Award which is co-established by the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences and Boehringer Ingelheim Korea. Prof. Park was acknowledged for his participation researcher-led international joint clinical research which was the first case among Korean researchers. Through the joint research, Prof. Park designed the basic guidelines for sub-chemotherapy to prevent recurrence of lung cancer after radical pneumonectomy. Prof. Park’s 20 years of continuous research in the field of lung cancer was acknowledged by the Wunsch Medical Award committee.

“It is my great honor to receive the Wunsch Medical Award which is one of the oldest and the most prestigious awards in the field of medicine. The hope to cure helpless cancer patients whom I could not find way to help when I was a young doctor was the energy which brought me to current position. I will continue on my path to find better future for lung cancer patients by concentrating on the research and patient care.” Prof. Park commented.
