¡Ø 2017 PBL Peer Review Awards
Problem Based Learning (PBL) during the 4
th
year at the SKKU-SOM is designed to train students to obtain problem-solving abilities through group discussions. Since the program is based on teamwork, it is especially important for the teammates to actively communicate and to work collaboratively. That is the reason why the SKKU-SOM annually rewards the students after the completion of the PBL program to compliment the students who stood out in various aspects during the PBL program.
This year, new criteria was added to the peer assessment of the students. Logical Thinking was added to the existing 4 criteria – Participation, Academic devotion, Contribution, and Communication. Students were asked to evaluate their teammates in the view of an instructor or faculty members. The PBL Peer Review Awards, which began in 2013, awards the students who scored the highest in each criteria as well as the student who received the highest total score. The 2017 PBL Peer Review Awards Ceremony was held to award students with certificates and prizes. Through the peer review, the SKKU-SOM hopes that students will understand the importance of teamwork not only during the courses but throughout their career as medical doctors and biomedical scientists. |
