※ SKKU-SOM joins the SKKU-UWA Joint Forum

Following the 2016 SKKU-UWA Joint Forum held at the University of Western Australia, this year, the SKKU-SOM hosted the second forum on September 21 ^st . This year Prof. Katie Meehan from the UWA Faculty of Medicine was a major guest of the joint forum. Prof. Meehan visited the Samsung Medical Center and participated in a joint research seminar with Prof. Woongyang Park, the director of the Samsung Genome Institute. Prof. Park participated in last years forum at Perth, and he continued his collaborative research with UWA colleagues.

After the seminar with the researchers at Samsung Genome Institute and the tour of research facilites at the Future Medicine Hall, Prof. Meehan joined the Old Palace Tour with the rest of the UWA delegation at Changdeokgung Palace. Dinner reception was followed by the tour, which was hosted by President Kyu Sang Chung.

 The SKKU-SOM looks forward to expanding its partnership with the UWA Faculty of Medicine both in the field of medical research and education. The SKKU Office of International Affairs, which organized the event, expects the joint forum to become a regular forum which can maintain the collaboration between the two universities.
