¡Ø Quarterly Issue of Precision and Future Medicine Released

 

SKKU-SOM¡¯s own international journal Precision and Future Medicine (P&FM) released its 2nd issue on June 30. P&FM launched the very first issue on March 31 and announced to the world of the new beginning of the medical journal history of SKKU-SOM. As for the new journal, the hardest part of the publication was to collect quality articles that satisfy global standardized readers. However, professors of SKKU-SOM were delighted to submit their hard works to P&FM. First issue contained five journal articles and readers can find another five interesting journal articles in the second issue.

Three review articles, one original article and one case report consist of the second issue. First review was written by Jeeyun Lee and Kyoung-Mee Kim titled ¡°Biomarkers for gastric cancer: molecular classification revisited.¡± Prof. Lee is one of the associate editors of P&FM and she is the biggest contributor to the journal. Second article was written by Se Hoon Park and Hong-Hee Won. Prof. Hong is from Samsung Advanced Institute for Health Science and Technology (SAIHST). ¡°Bioinformatics challenges in molecular epidemiology of cancers¡± is an interesting work of clinical medicine and health sciences and technology combined. The last review article of this issue was written by Yeon Joo Jeong from Pusan National University, Kyung Soo Lee, the Dean of SKKU-SOM and Jae-Joon Yim from Seoul National University. This collaborative work was initiated by the Dean Lee. Dean Kyung Soo Lee is the biggest supporter of P&FM and keep encouraging great researchers to submit their work to P&FM. ¡°The diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis: a Korean perspective¡± was published this time and the writers are planning to write follow-up articles next year.

Prof. Geum-Youn Gwak was one of the founding member of P&FM, however, she couldn¡¯t be on the editorial board anymore. Instead of be one of the editorial board, she became an author and submitted one original article for P&FM. ¡°Anti-fibrotic effect of bovine colostrum in carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatic fibrosis¡± was written by Dong Hyun Sinn, Geum-Youn Gwak, Young Ju Kwon and Seung Woon Paik. P&FM publishes one case report for each issue. One of the associate editors Tae Jung Kim contribute for the second issue. ¡°Pleural amyloidosis mimicking malignant mesothelioma¡± by Min Yeong Kim, Tae Jung Kim, Jungho Han, Bo Da Nam, and Kyung Soo Lee was published as the case report of P&FM volume 1 number 2.

P&FM is an open access medical journal published by SKKU-SOM. Anyone can contribute to the journal. All the articles can be accessed from its website https://www.pfmjournal.org and instruction for author can be found as well.
