The top 100 world university subject rankings for 2016-2017 were announced by The Times Higher Education (THE) on September 28th. According to the rankings, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine (SKKU-SOM) ranks number 72 for Clinical, Pre-clinical and Health - up from 88th last year. 

SKKU-SOM established a reputation due to its dedication and stronger impact of research papers published throughout the year. It ranked 2nd in Korea, following Seoul National University, and it placed 1st among the private medical schools in Korea. Among the top 100 world universities, 10 Asian universities were recognized. The National University of Singapore ranked highest in 31st place, followed by the University of Tokyo (34th), and the University of Hong Kong (39th).

Dean Kyung Soo Lee commented, “It was remarkable to become one of the top 100 medical schools in the world when we first made it on to the list - ranking 88th of last year. It is even more stunning this year since our endeavor was not in vain. We will continue our efforts in improving our research and education for better results next year, and we will finally become a leading medical school in Asia.”
