University of Newcastle Pro-Vice Chancellor Visits SKKU-SOM

Prof. Nicholas Talley, the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Global Research) of the University of Newcastle (UoN), Australia visited SKKU-SOM. The visitation was a courtesy greeting for the new Dean and the Executive Vice President of SKKU-SOM. Prof. Talley met with Dean Yon Ho Choe and Executive Vice President Kyung Soo Lee at the new Clinical Training Center. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss a possible future collaboration between SKKU-SOM and UoN.

The partnership with the University of Newcastle began in 2015, when both universities held a joint symposium in Newcastle. After this initial meeting, SKKU-SOM invited speakers from UoN whenever there was an international symposium hosted by SKKU-SOM.

Vice President Lee and Prof. Talley agreed to find ways to expand their partnership in various aspects, such as student exchanges, joint research projects, and collaborative seminars.

After the meeting, Vice President Lee and Dean Choe invited Prof. Talley on a tour of the new Clinical Training Center. Prof. Talley was introduced to the new training facilities at the Clinical Training Center. After the tour, Prof. Talley visited the Future Medicine Research Center at Samsung Medical Center. There, he was able to visit the research facilities and inspect the programs located in the center.
