SKKU-SOM Ranked 46th in
the World by THE Rankings by Subject

The world university rankings for Pre-Clinical, Clinical & Health 2022 were announced by Times Higher Education (THE) in October 2021. In the world rankings, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine is ranked 46th, and it is the top medical school among South Korea's private universities. In addition, SKKU-SOM has been consistently ranked in the top 50 for 4 consecutive years and top ranked in South Korea for 4 consecutive years.

The "2022 THE World University Assessment" was conducted by Times Higher Education, a global university evaluation agency. The evaluation method is measured according to five indicators: Teaching (27.5), Research (27.5), Citation (35), International Outlook (7.5), and Industry Income (2.5), and they have been announcing the ranking of the world's medical schools since 2010.

Dr. Yon-ho Choe, Dean of SKKU's School of Medicine, announced, "We have accomplished a great achievement for several consecutive years. Nonetheless, by further strengthening research and education capabilities, we will extend a greater effort to reach the target of making it into the top 20 by 2025. In a variety of ways, we will further enhance our global status."

Amongst the Korean medical universities, the rankings are as follows: Seoul National University (37th), SungKyunKwan University (46th), Yonsei University (52nd), Korea University (90th), Kyunghee University (251-300), Ajou University (301-400), University of Ulsan (301-400) and Hanyang University (401-500).

Oxford University of England retained its position as the world's No. 1 medical school for the eleventh consecutive year. Harvard University retained second. Imperial College London ranked third, climbing one step from ranked 4th of last year.
