The world university rankings for Pre-Clinical, Clinical &
Health 2020 were announced by The Times Higher Education (THE) on November 20th.
Sungkyunkwan University’s School of Medicine has risen four notches in the 2020
THE World University Ranking in Clinical, Pre-Clinical & Health field,
ranking 37th in the world and the nation’s top medical school.
"2020 THE World University Assessment" was conducted by Times Higher
Education, a global university evaluation agency, on 775 medical schools out of
1,400 universities in 92 countries and is recognized for their global authority
evaluation method is measured by five indicators: Teaching(27.5), Research(27.5),
Citation(35), International Outlook(7.5), and Industry Income (2.5) and has
been announcing the ranking of the worlds medical schools since 2010.
the 2016 THE Ranking by Subject released in 2015, Sungkyunkwan University’s
medical school jumped to 37th place this year after ranking 88th in the world’s
100th place in 2015, 72nd in 2017, 57th in 2018 and 41st in 2019.
Yonho CHOE, dean of SKKU’s School of Medicine, said, "By further
strengthening research and education capabilities, we will spare no effort and
investment in various fields with the goal of making it into the top 20 by
2025, and will not be satisfied with the world’s 37th largest medical school,
which is up four notches from last year, but will further enhance its global
Korea, SungKyunKwan University (47th), Yonsei University (68th), Korea
University (93rd), Kyunghee University (201-250), Ulsan University (301-400),
Chonnam National University (401-500), Ewha Womans University (401-500), and
Hanyang University (401-500).
Oxford University of England retained its position as the worlds No. 1 medical
school for the ninth consecutive year, while Harvard University and Cambridge
University ranked second and third, respectively, as they did last year.
